FAQ & Info

At this Scroll saw gallery you can find more than 1000 photos of finished projects, which were made according to my patterns. I will be appreciated if you send me photos of your projects to my email - alexscrollsaw@gmail.com

Many of scroller ask what material and thickness I use, here is what I recommend:
- bowls: 1/4 inch (or 6 mm) plywood or hardwood
- fretwork: 1/8 - 1/4 inch (or 3 - 6 mm) plywood or hardwood
- 3D (sliced): 1/8 - 1/6 inch (or 3 - 4 mm) plywood or HDF (MDF), there is many material used for such projects, so using hardwood will be expensive
- layered: 1/8 inch (or 3 mm) any material

Also many scrollers ask about glue I use,  it is called "88" of Ukrainian production, instruction: apply glue on both surfaces, wait about 10-15 minutes until the glue dries, squeeze the glued surfaces. I am not sure that you will find it in your country, but similar glue could be "Contact Cement".

I use self-adhesive paper to glue printed pattern to the wood (also it calls labels or sticker paper). I use brand "Crystal", it produced in Ukraine. I know that "Xerox" also produced it - I think it is more popular brand  at other countries.
